Welcome to the homepage of the Feral Flyers Model Aero Club or FFMAC for short. Located on picturesque Mitchells Island in the mouth of the Manning River, just 5 kilometres north of the seaside hamlet of Old Bar and 15 kilometres east of Taree, N.S.W, the FFMAC flying field is ideally suited to powered and non-powered flight alike, to remote-control and control-line, fixed-wing, drones and helicopters!

FFMAC operates under the NSW Fair Trading’s Registry of Co-operatives & Associations which regulates incorporated associations registered under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009. Our parent body, Aeromodellers NSW arranges our comprehensive insurance which is mandatory for flying members and visitors with accreditation to fly.

The FFMAC has a knowledgeable, friendly and active membership from a diverse range of backgrounds who share a common passion for flying model aircraft in a relaxed and social setting. Beginners and seasoned pro's alike are most welcome to join and MAAA qualified instructors are available to assist the beginner gain their wings with powered and non-powered fixed wing. In addition to flight training, helpful and friendly advice is always available from our experienced members in the selection of equipment and aircraft construction.

It is of course strongly recommended that any new members or interested parties have a chat with existing members before purchasing any radio equipment, engine or kit is purchased to avoid frustration and unnecessary expense.

The club flying field is approximately 200 metres long, flat and is clear of obstructions on the approaches. The facilities include a communal shed for members with Bar-B-Q facilities and parking close to the field. Periodic events with other regional clubs are always well attended.

Flying days are every Sunday and Wednesday barring Christmas day and Good Friday, and flying can be arranged on other days with prior notice. FFMAC Membership is just $60 per year for Seniors and $30 per year for Juniors plus MAAA/Aeromodellers NSW fees, which includes insurance. Membership includes a half-yearly newsletter and we hold a club Christmas Party for members and spouses for a small additional fee. Other social events are held from time to time.

Proficient fliers, who have insurance by virtue of their membership in another club, may request permission to fly at our club. Associate Members pay $30 per year  and MAAA/Aeromodellers NSW fees, which covers insurance if not a member of another club.
